Look, this wasn’t easy. When we launched this, we didn’t expect nearly as many submissions as we ended up getting, and certainly not as many that were so compelling. All in all, there were over 140 participants and after reading through all of them, floating on it, debating, floating some more, and eventually bringing it to a vote, we settled on the winner.
It (truly) was not easy to decide, but we are very proud to announce Amy Grimes and Mark Chesshir of Nashville Float and Massage (NFM) as the winners of the ‘Start-a-Center’ Giveaway.
Their vision of an integrative wellness center featuring floating with “concierges assigned to each client to follow up post therapies, get feedback, help them track their progress with online tools, suggest activities, events and assist in future scheduling” is inspiring. The ability to accurately track treatment and recovery regimens with the tank would be a boon, not only to their community, but to every float center around the globe.
There were lots of other aspects to their plan that are noteworthy: their outreach programs, their internship, their background and connections. The entire project was obviously very well thought out and had been stewing for a long time.
It’s ambitious, and (we want to give credit where credit is due!) there were other entries that had a similar vision. NFM, however, is staged to happen. Amy Grimes is an LMT, and was executive director for a national medical non-profit.
They have everything planned simply and functionally. They have a background in the industry and connections they can leverage. It’s likely they would have already secured funding and be up and running if it weren’t for one thing.
They are in month 8 of pursuing approval of the Davidson County Department of Health.
With the Float Tank Solutions materials and consulting, we’re going to do the best we can to get them past their Health Department blockade, to raise the funding they need, and to open their doors with their tanks already fully booked.
There were about two dozen entries that were close contenders, and again, this wasn’t an easy choice. Thank you again so much to all of you who shared their float dreams and center aspirations with us! It was truly inspiring reading through them all.
Float on!
