Float Tank Consulting & Strategy Sessions

Salt water leaks, electric current in ungrounded water, slippery floors, sound pollution, light pollution, imprecise or dangerous chemistry, misinformed sanitation, murky water, impurities in your epsom salt, improper water filtration…there is a lot that goes wrong with float tanks. We’ve seen every sensory deprivation disaster you can imagine (we’ve experienced most of them first hand), and have dealt with the unfortunate consequences.

If your float tank center is designed set up properly, however, everything runs smoothly. The tanks take just a half-hour of maintenance a week to stay crystal clear and balanced, cleaning up after floats takes three minutes (tops), and the experience of floating for your clients is consistently pitch black and silent, neither too hot nor too cold.

All those problems involve just the intricacies of float tanks themselves. When you take into account that the tanks are the life-blood of your float center, having maintenance issues are all the more undesirable. If a tank goes down for any reason, you have to cancel out floats for an indefinite amount of time while the problem is fixed, and even after refilling, a tank usually takes a minimum of 12-18 more hours before the water reaches the correct temperature.

“Float On has become the go-to source for information on setting up a float center. Their shared knowledge on best practices and marketing were extremely helpful to me. If you’re not sure where to start with your float center, start here.”

On top of this, float centers often face obstacles above and beyond the float tanks themselves. Problems with marketing, finance, legal structure, insurance, leases, capital, choosing float tanks, finding a location, deciding on a pricing structure for your floats and memberships…the list goes on and on.

Many centers also have issues with creating a solid client base. We offer comprehensive staff training as part of our consulting services to help cultivate dedicated floaters at your center. Without a proper introduction and a helpful follow up from your staff, clients may abandon your center even though they enjoyed every second of their time in the tank. Proper staff training helps you to ensure that your tanks are booked for weeks in advance, and that you turn your clients into devoted floaters, not just people who enjoyed the novel experience of being in a float tank.

Solving these problems is what we’re here for.

Float Tank Solutions helps you jump the hurdles you’ll encounter on the path to running your float center successfully. We offer consulting services & strategy sessions at your location, over the phone or skype, by email, courier pigeon (we train nothing by the best courier pigeons)…however you need to contact us, we’re available for you.

We literally wrote the national standards on float tank sanitation, we run the largest float center in the United States, we annually host the International Float Conference (the largest float tank event in the world), we created software to help you run your float center, and we facilitate small business workshops in Portland (which are all filmed and archived for free viewing). The only thing we can’t do is help with tank installation. There are just so many different configurations that you’re best off going straight to the source for your answers.

We’re here to help with your float center problems, whatever they may be.

“I’ve been collaborating with the staff at Float On for about one year. I often contact them with questions about basic things, such as sanitation and pump mechanics. They are always really helpful and interested in helping us succeed.

Recently, Float On put together a large international float conference. It was incredibly well organized. The Float On staff members work together really well together and they are models for how float staff can manifest a dream and make it real.

Perhaps what I appreciate most about Float On is that they are very down to earth and hard working. For example, I know they have done a lot of research on the different health codes regarding floating throughout the U.S. They have built an amazing community by going above and beyond for their clients and the members of the float community.

I look forward to working with them in the future.”
