subjects reported increased attention to internal sensations, which is significant for people with anxiety.

It's possible that floating is acting as Reciprocal Inhibition, or lessening the stress responses of anxiety inducing behaviors.

Floating was reported as the most beneficial treatment for anxiety in some subjects.
